Coppélia at the Paris Opera Ballet:

It was fantastic. One of the most relaxing things about the performance? Everyone can understand dance, regardless of the language one speaks.
At the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris:
two artists whose work I had never seen before, but adored...
Karen Kilimnik (her installations were really the star of the show...)

She's an American artist from Philadelphia. She's inventive and whimsical. Totally my speed!

and Tacita Dean: A video artist whose somber works are full of beauty and texture.

At the Musée des Arts décoratifs:
Since I do produce advertisements-it was pretty great to see "A History of Advertising Photography in France: From Man Ray to Jean-Paul Goude". It's nice to think that some of the work I help create could one day be considered art. (I am the eternal optimist).

and finally...it was a quiet finish in Zihuatanejo, Mexico for the New Year...where the only cultural events I participated in were sleeping under a palm tree or floating in the placid sea.

Happy New Year!

The ballet must have been amazing. So many great experiences in such a short time. But we are all glad to have you back...
